Wikis allows individual to create, add and edit any entry. It was developed to allow for easy, fast collaborative development and editing of a website by users who choose to participate.
Wikis are a great way of collaboratively developing a website. Patrons can add to the collection of useful resources and can prune away the dead links. The librarian can moderate the Wiki and decide what websites can stay in the guide. He/She can let everyone contribute freely and update the subject guide quickly and easily.

Have you thought of ways to incorporate wikis into e-learning with your own classes?
I can use Wikis as a platform for on-line discussion in my module.
